2024 MagicCon Las Vegas: The Bloomburrow Experience

Months after release, Wizards is still hyped on Bloomburrow, complete with a huge stall at MagicCon Las Vegas.

Amidst the dozens of tables of card sellers, many artists, and well over 100 playing tables, Wizards of the Coast showcased their last two expansions, giving Bloomburrow and Duskmourn another look before Foundations and Aetherdrift come out. Here's what they did with Bloomburrow, complete with Wizards employee telling people to "feel so mall" before going in.

They recreated the Bloomburrow aesthetic. It wasn't as immersive as previous years did with expansions, but it hit all the usual high notes, including the sets well-liked cottage core aesthetics.

It also drew heavily from the art, with even some of the employees there calling it the best ever. This included a cookbook as well as the banners from each of the ten main species in Bloomburrow. Real wooden tables and stump benches also dotted the area.

Also highlighted was the art, with major characters being framed

As well as figurines of all the members of Mabel's party in there as well.

Around the area was also an area of Magic suited to Bloomburrow, with the expansion theming the Family area of the Convention.

It's no surprise Magic is still highlighting the set this far after it was introduced, as Wizards has said it was a huge moneymaker, fans calling it one of the best expansion in years, the expansion itself broadening the game to usually hard to reach demographics, and stores, as well as some of the booths at the convention, quickly running out of Bloomburrow merch.

"Oh, yeah, we ran out around noon for a lot of it," said Jack, a vendor at MagicCon. "People love the otters, with a lot of people saying they were buying it for their kids or that their wife or girlfriend said to get it. The fish tokens especially."

"And I saw them setting that area up. It's cool."

A trading card store owner from Los Angeles, Mitchell, added that "I want to theme my store to this. You know, this works with D&D, Lorcana, and really just any game like that. Bloomburrow is just fantastic. It was a return to roots for Magic, and I'm happy they are giving it their due. I mean, it came out in July and it is still being played this heavily? I mean, I still run out of boosters of it even now. It's insane."
