Wizards of the Coast has very recently launched Historic Cube Draft on Magic: The Gathering - Arena, so we here at Magic Untapped figured we might as well check it out.
Historic Cube Draft is a phantom format (meaning you don't get to keep the cards you draft afterwards). As for what it entails, here's what Wizards of the Coast says about it:
Our cube consists of 555 cards pulled from everything that's available in MTG Arena—including both Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths and Historic Anthology III cards. You'll open three "booster packs" that contain 15 cards and draft them against your fellow players. Each pack may contain multiple exciting rares and mythic rares, so don't let the card on the top left distract you from the rest of the pack! It's also important to note that like Cube Sealed, Cube Draft will be a "phantom" event, which means the cards will not be added to your collection.
So, how did Magic Untapped fair in our first-ever Historic Cube Draft on MTG Arena? We certainly won more games than we lost, but to see how and what deck we wound up building, you'll need to watch the video below.
