In 2013, the second set in Magic: The Gathering's Return to Ravnica block, Gatecrash, was released. With it came the re-introduction of five the plane's ten guilds: Orzhov, Dimir, Gruul, Boros, and Simic.
Each guild received its own prerelease kit which contains five booster packs of Gatecrash along with a few extra goodies. These goodies include a guild-specific decal, a spindown 20-sided die that features that guild's symbols as the number "20," and a special seeded pack that includes that guild's specific alternate-art prerelease card and other guild-specific cards.
For this episode of Pack Crackin', we're opening a Gruul kit. For the Gruul, the prerelease card is Rubblehulk (which is worth a less-than-impressive 49¢).
As might be expected, Dissension's three shock lands are worth a decent sum. In fact, they are amongst the most expensive cards in the set at time of this article according to price guide MTGStocks with Breeding Pool ($22.08) topping the list.
As far as other cards of value within the set, Gatecrash features a handful that are worth in the double digits. That includes Aurelia, the Warleader ($20.00), Sacred Foundry ($19.98), Lord of the Void ($14.81), Watery Grave ($13.29), Godless Shrine ($13.21), and a couple of others.
Magic Untapped picked up this prerelease kit from Big Brother Comics for the comfortable price of $19.99.
